Hunting in Tajikistan

Hunting in Tajikistan

Intro

Tajikistan is a relatively small country (about 1/2 the size of Montana) and mountainous; a large percentage of the landscape is covered with mountains and the highest peaks are over 24,000 feet. The country is poor and underdeveloped with a predominantly agricultural economy. The largest, and capital city, is Dushanbe. The countryside is very scenic. The major neighboring countries are China to the east, Afghanistan to the south, Uzbekistan to the west & Kazakhstan to the north. Islam is the most common religion here and most of the people look Russian, Asian, Persian & Mongolian, depending on the location. These are not true “Arabic” countries. I partner with a North American outfitter who has been working with reliable local companies for many years, so travel safety concerns are not an issue. Most people speak Russian, with “locals” speaking Tajik.  It is definitely possible to send an American guide with you at a small additional cost if so requested.  I personally would be more then willing to escort you personally scheduling permitting.  Home to the largest Marco Polo Rams and some great Mid- Asian Ibex.
